Beautiful, talented Television and Broadway star Megan Hilty, best know for starring roles in Smash, Wicked, 9 to 5: The Musical, lit up the stage celebrating Valentine’s Day with the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra . Conductor Todd Ellison and the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra set the mood as they opened the program with Broadway Showstoppers – – “Moon River” and “Tara’s Theme” – – after which Ms. Hilty joined the orchestra on stage. The audience welcomed her with enthusiastic applause. After all, they braved the bitter cold to hear and see an extraordinary talent who did not disappoint. She closed out the first half of the program with Leo Robin’s and Jule Styne’s “Girls Best Friend” from the Broadway musical Gentlemen Prefer Blondes.
For the second half she appeared in a magnificent red gown and continued the program with songs from Wicked and Smash. For an encore, Ms. Hilty sang Irving Berlin’s “Count Your Blessings” with great warmth and sincerity.
The evening with Megan Hilty was a SMASH.
