- Company, the musical comedy masterpiece about the search for love and cocktails in the Big Apple is turned on its head in Marianne Elliott’s revelatory staging, in which musical theatre’s most iconic bachelor becomes a bachelorette, finally opened December 9th at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theater.
Kate Baldwin, Christine Baranski, Sierra Boggess, Betty Buckley, Kerry Butler, Jenn Colella, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, John Benjamin Hickey, Caitlin Kinnunen, Jane Krakowski, Beth Leavel, Beth Malone, Donna McKechnie, Justin Mikita, Donna Murphy, Cyntha Nixon, Leslie Odom Jr., Chazz Palmineri, Sarah Paulson, Zac Posen, Randy Rainbow, Lee Roy Reams, Jordan Roth, Angie Schworer, Marc Shaiman, Jennifer Westfeldt, and original cast members Barbara Barrie, Donna McKechnie plus many more came out to celebrate this long-anticipated opening.
In tribute to Stephen Sondheim, who recently passed away, Playbill designed a new opening night Playbill featuring a photo of Sondheim on the cover.
Sondheim and Elliott have collaborated to update this masterpiece, bringing Bobbie’s array of friends and lovers unswervingly into the 21st century. The cast includes Etai Benson, Matt Doyle, Jennifer Simard, Christopher Sieber, Patti LuPone, Terence Archie, Greg Hildreth, Rashidra Scott, Nikki Renee Daniels, Christopher Fitzgerald, Katrina Lenk, Claybourne Elder, Manu Narayan, Bobby Conte.
