“Making the Rounds with Russ” isn’t only about Russ Weatherford zipping here, there and everywhere to be at someone’s cabaret show busily taking photos and video. No, in this case it’s about spending a joyful, warm, fuzzy and heartfelt Christmas with two of the nicest, generous and most giving people in the world of cabaret – Russ Weatherford and Eric Rudy at their home. The decor – just dramatically sensational, the food beyond delicious and the music – – well, how bad can it be when the Crown Prince of Cabaret, Steve Ross, decides to sit down at the piano to play and sing! But, then he’s joined by icon Joan Copeland, and shortly after, Stacy Sullivan arrives to add her vocals to the glorious voiced Eric Rudy. And let’s raise a glass of delicious champagne to Rob Lester, Edith Drake, Karen Wyman, Marya Coburn, Jack Urbont, Joe Sirola, Jamie deRoy, Margot Astrachan, Mari Lyn Henry, Marilyn Lester, Randie Levine-Miller, Barbara & Scott Siegel and so many more who were part of the evening’s festivities.
But, wait, here comes Santa (Bob Blume) swooping in with his bag of goodies . . . something for everyone. Surely one of the most joyful Christmas holiday times yours truly has had.
