Office politics can get nasty – especially when there’s some racial politics involved as well. Such is the premise of Joel Drake Johnson’s play Rasheeda Speaking, which will be presented by The New Group from January 27 to March 22 at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street), with an official opening on February 11.

The work, set in a doctor’s office, stars Oscar winner Dianne Wiest and Tony Award winner Tonya Pinkins as two receptionists who become ensnared in a power struggle. The cast also includes Patricia Conolly and Darren Goldstein. Tony and Emmy Award winner Cynthia Nixon will make her directorial debut with this production.

Theater Pizzazz caught up with Nixon, Johnson, and this super-talented acting ensemble at a press event on Wednesday, January 14 at the New 42nd Street studios. Here’s what they had to tell us!
