The musical Allegiance is based on the true-life experience of its star George Takei about his family’s extraordinary journey; the untold American story about the Japanese imprisonment camps here in America during World War II. It takes you on the path from lush farmlands of California to wastelands of Wyoming to the battlefields of Europe; the divided loyalties threatening to tear people apart.
Allegiance is written by Marc Acito, with music by Jay Kuo, choreography by Andrew Palermo and directed by Stafford Arima. The cast features Lea Salonga, George Takei, Telly Leung, Katie Rose Clarke, Michael K. Lee and Scott Wise. Previews begin October 6th with an opening date of November 8th at the Longacre Theatre on West 48th Street.
TheaterPizzazz’ Sandi Durell and Miriam Spritzer were at a recent press meet and greet and here is what the cast and creatives had to say.
