Presented by the Mabel Mercer Foundation

Harbinger Records is pleased to announce their premiere DVD release. And for this prestigious debut they’ve chosen to present a live video recording of the estimable Sidney Myer at the Laurie Beechman Theatre in New York. Known for his witty musical comedy, Sidney delivers numbers that are understated and even heartbreaking. Disarming, funny, preposterous, touching, and utterly unique, Myer is one of the country’s leading cabaret performers and has won numerous awards for his incomparable choice of material, delivery and wit. He’s performed around the world making New York his base.

For the past 25 years, despite constant urging from admirers, Sidney limited his brilliance to cameos at clubs, benefits and conventions. But for this, his debut DVD, Sidney sold-out six one-man shows emphasizing his wide range of material and thrilled his audiences. Harbinger is proud to say the result is an utterly marvelous record of a uniquely versatile performer that will thrill aficionados of musical comedy, cabaret, popular song and standup comedy. There’s something for everyone in this record of a master showman at the top of his game.

Sidney Myer: Live at the Laurie Beechman Theater is filmed and edited by Michael Lee Stever and he’s thrilled to be working with Sidney, KT Sullivan and the entire Mabel Mercer Foundation team. Some of Stever’s credits include UPM on the critically acclaimed documentary ‘Broadway: The Golden Age by the Legends Who Were There.’ Chief cinematographer for Off Broadway’s, ‘Little Rock,’ and co-cinematographer for the acclaimed Terrence McNally documentary, ‘Every Act Of Live.’ Filmed, directed and executive produced ‘Resurrecting Carrie,’ featuring Piper Laurie, and ‘Jan Broberg’s Guide To Thespians, Sociopaths & Scream Queens!’ featuring Elijah Wood.
