Renee Katz’ pandemic time was spent honing her exquisite vocal skills for her new CD Winter Awakenings, showcasing Maury Yeston’s gorgeous and haunting December Songs and other gems from the American Songbook. On March 19 at 7 pm, the Celebration Concert of this CD will take place at Pangea (178 2d Ave, NYC) with musical director/pianist John Cook. There will also be a livestream on March 20 at 8 pm. MAC and Broadway World Award nominee, Renee Katz has appeared in the Mabel Mercer Cabaret Convention, Weil Recital Hall, Urban Stages’ Winter Rhythms and received critical acclaim for her show Never Been Gone (with Tedd Firth) based upon her book of poetry, also a CD. Renee was trained at LaGuardia High School of Music and Art, NYU and worked with Martha Gladston at Julliard.
