It was a star-studded evening as the new musical comedy (and now Broadway smash hit) “A Gentleman’s Guide to Love & Murder” (written by Robert L. Freedman – book/lyrics & Steven Lutvak – music/lyrics) readied for its opening at the Walter Kerr Theatre last night on West 48th Street.
The production, directed by Darko Tresnjak, and starring Jefferson Mays, Bryce Pinkham, Lisa O’Hare, Lauren Worsham and Jane Carr (with a winning ensemble – Pamela Bob, Joanna Glushak, Eddie Korbich, Jeff Kready, Mark Ledbetter, Jennifer Smith, Price Waldman, Catherine Walker) finds Monty Navarro (Pinkham) knocking off his D’Ysquith relatives (all played by Jefferson Mays) as he makes his way to the top of the heap and into Highhurst Castle in the wackiest musical comedy this season.
