Mark Sonnenblick is a York NEO writer and 2018 Jonathan Larson Award Winner. The story is about singer Trevor Copeland (Sam Bolen) and songwriter Arthur Brightman (Jeremy Cohen) and their perfect New York romance taking place in 1965. But it’s also a time period in which village gay bars were illegal. The two put a show together called Midnight where they sing love songs as they hurtle toward the end of the decade finding themselves caught in an uncontrollable passion, and a political revolution they don’t understand.

The score is seductive and inspired and written in the genre of the Great American Songbook.
