Will “Zorba” be all Greek to you? That’s what audiences will find out when the 1968 musical adaptation of Nikos Kazantzakis’ well-loved novel “Zorba the Greek” will be presented by City Center Encores!, May 6 – 10. The show, which features a score by the legendary team of John Kander & Fred Ebb, will be directed by Walter Bobbie and choreographed by Josh Rhodes.
The title role will be played by acclaimed film and stage star John Turturro, making his musical debut, and the cast will also include Tony Award nominees Zoe Wanamaker (Madame Hortense), Marin Mazzie (The Leader), Santino Fontana (Nikos), and Elizabeth A. Davis (The Widow).
