Kenny Leon directs an amazing cast including Joshua Jackson, Lauren Ridloff, Anthony Edwards, Kecia Lewis, Julee Cerda, Treshelle Edmond and John McGinty.
Theater Pizzazz spoke with director Kenny Leon along with members of the cast. The play was published in 1979 by Mark Medoff and first produced in 1980. It focuses on the conflicted professional and romantic relationship between deaf former student, Sarah Norman (Lauren Ridloff), and her teacher, James Leeds (Joshua Jackson).
The producers are Hal Luftig and Nyle DiMarco – Nyle a winner of America’s Next Top Model, Dancing With the Stars, a deaf activist and now a theater producer.
The question asked is how can we truly communicate? Kenny Leon lays the question bare in this breathtaking new revival. More relevant than ever!
