Jazz Legend, Queen of Cabaret, the Marvelous Marilyn Maye, will be honored by APSSinc.org (American Popular Song Society) with a Lifetime Achievement Award on Monday June 12, 2023 at Theater 555 (555 West 42nd Street), at 5:30 pm. A post concert reception will follow at The Green Room 42. Performers from Broadway and Cabaret are on board to perform and also continue celebrating her 95th Birthday.

Since her pre-teen years in Kansas, where she appeared in amateur singing contests, she quickly became a professional as the powers that be took notice. For those who don’t know, Ms. Maye is the only vocalist to have appeared on the Johnny Carson Show 76 times! Johnny called her a “Super Singer” and Ella Fitzgerald dubbed her “the greatest white female singer in the world.” The raves poured in as Marilyn Maye wowed audiences nationwide . . . she’s a super singer whose abilities to tell the story and share realities reach untold proportions . . . she’s funny and clever and you can never get enough of her.
