Marilyn Maye is always a joy to experience. She commands the stage and the attention of her audience. She is magical and shares her talents with glorious gratitude. A Marilyn Maye show is like coming home to the safety and love of a trusted relative or friend.
Ms. Maye is a performer who always uplifts her ardent fans. She nurtures them with sheer delight. Her smiles are contagious and when she sings – well – we all know what that is like. There is no singer today that is a better interpreter of the music and lyrics she selects.
Not to mention, she surrounds herself with only the best. Tedd Firth, Tom Hubbard and Ray Marchica support her desire to take her admirers to a place of healing and calm. Joining her In this show, is legendary guitarist, Bucky Pizzarelli. He is truly magnificent and, along with Ms. Maye, they click musically like euphoric crickets on a summer night.
I often think to myself, when having the privilege of attending one of her events, that she also draws an audience of the best. They are always as appreciative of her as she is, most certainly, of them.
She has two more shows this week at Iridium NYC. They are 8:30 and 10:30 tonight November 6, 2014. Make your reservations now and get a good table. By the way, I had a massive prime-rib steak last night that was out of this world. Scott Barbarino, the manager, knows his club and his house manager, Thomas, is the best.
