Born in Wales, Iris Williams had huge success in the United Kingdom, with fourteen Royal Performances, an O.B.E. (Order of the British Empire) Award by the Queen.  The BBC featured her in a series ‘The Iris Williams Songbook.’ She’s been called a ‘Goddess of Song’ possessing a striking voice with impeccable taste and elegant phrasing.  This lush contralto is a pitch perfect world class artist and a master storyteller.  What more could one desire in a cabaret artist who will be in residence for one performance only at Birdland on May 2 at 7 pm!

She calls New York her home since 2008 and has had the good fortune of performing at some of the best venues here in New York and across the country including the Oak Room at the Algonquin Hotel, Cinegrill in Hollywood and Dorothy Chandler Pavillion in L.A.

She has been dubbed, and rightfully so, ‘the voice and soul of Wales!’

Don’t miss this captivating songstress at Birdland Jazz (315 West 44 Street, 212 581-3080) along with Art Weiss, her music director, Tom Hubbard on bass and Jeff Brillinger on drums.
