Russ Weatherford has been a mainstay in the cabaret community for sometime. A writer, director and photographer, his presence is well known and received in all the venues. Wherever there’s a cabaret show, there’s Russ and his camera to capture the moment. TheaterPizzazz is proud to announce Russ’ new affiliation with us and his column “Making the Rounds with Russ” – a compilation of videography and photography bringing life to the many evenings of entertainment in the New York City club scene and more.

Russ was at opening night at Urban Stages where it is presenting “Winter Rhythms” from Dec. 2 – 14.  The first evening, December 2nd, was a Tribute to Bing Crosby.  An evening of songs made famous by the legendary giant of popular song, film, TV and radio. The evening featured Steve Ross, Jeff Harnar, Marissa Mulder, Mary Foster Conklin, Julie Reyburn, Anna Marie Sell, Marissa Miller, Susan Winter. Renowned musical director Bill Zeffiro curated and co-hosted with Crosby biographer Gary Giddins.

7PM New World Waking by Steve Schalchlin
The multi-award winning composer/lyricist of The Last Session and The Big Voice: God or Merman has written a dramatic, victorious and often witty song cycle proposing a non-violent response to school bullying and violence in the world, framed by two real life stories of PFLAG moms. With Jeremy Abram, Maria Fernanda Brea, Jim Brochu, Natalie Dixon, Brian Dorais, Stephen Elkins, David Fuller, Bill Goffi, Kimberly Faye Greenberg, Cindy Marchionda, Steve Schalchlin, Lucia Spina, Jake Wesley Stewart, Eileen Tepper, Clayton G. 3PM Furthermore: Excerpts from New Musicals
Five of NY’s finest musical theatre songwriters present excerpts from their exciting shows. Featuring work by Beth Falcone (Wanda’s World), Kathy Lombardi (The Yellow Wallpaper), Mary Liz McNamara (The Good Girl), Tracy Sallows (Curious and Rare), Sara Wordsworth (In Transit) and their collaborators, performed by a cast to be announced.
7PM Daryl Sings Steve: Songs by Sondheim
Multiple award-winning cabaret artist Daryl Glenn brings back his successful tribute to the genius composer/lyricist of Sweeney Todd, Into the Woods, Follies, etc. Musical Director: Karen Dryer
