Girl Be Heard first performed for the Women Missionaries of the AME Church at the United Nations in 2011. The missionaries were so moved by Girl Be Heard’s performance about the sex trafficking epidemic impacting our girls, that they raised $9,000 on the spot to bring the Girl Be Heard to the WMS AME international Conference in Dallas, Texas. The beautiful partnership between Girl Be Heard and the WMS has continued to flourish.

Girl Be Heard will bestow their Fairy Godmother Award to two glass-ceiling breakers for paving the way for women and girls around the world to be heard – Dame Pamela Gordon-Banks and Dr. Shirley Cason-Reed.
