On Thursday, May 19, there was an official gallery opening to announce the launch of Broadway Prints, a new website featuring 30 years of photographing Broadway celebrities.

About covering Broadway since the 1980s, Jeremy Shevett, son of Anita and Steve Shevett, said, “It must have been an experience, to say the least.”

“This year will be their 30th year shooting the Tony’s,” Jeremy Shevett said. “My parents are New Yorkers to a ‘T’”.

Over three decades, these Broadway Photographers have covered Al Pacino, George Burns, Liza Minnelli, Gregory Hines, Christopher Reeve, Hugh Jackman, and many others.

About developing his website, BroadwayPrints.com, Jeremy Shevett said, “I’m very excited to be releasing their images in the next two years. We are hoping to slowly add more content to the website – more images for people to purchase…Right now, we have 16 images on the site.”

The gallery exhibit featured photos of Madonna, David Bowie and Iman, Steve Martin, and Robin Williams. Onlookers were able to listen to a live band or get a drink, while viewing the fine-art quality prints. There are performance stills and individual portraits. The photos are in black and white and color.

Anita and Steve Shevett are also covering Off-Broadway, photographing events at Manhattan Theatre Club, The Public Theater, and The Roundabout. Prints will be available in 11in X 14in, 16 X 20, and 20 X 30. Each print has a seal of authenticity, and is signed by the photographers. BroadwayPrints has partnered with The Actors Fund, and will be donating a portion of the proceeds from their revenue.

The exhibit at Pop-Up Gallery, located at 350 Bowery in New York City, is ongoing until May 25. The gallery is open from 11am – 8pm. For more information about the website, feel free to visit www.BroadwayPrints.com.
