With the closing of “The Trip to Bountiful” tonight (August 27th), the post show event was the portrait unveiling of Cuba Gooding Jr. at Tony’s DiNapoli on West 43rd Street, NYC by party host Bruce Dimpflmaier, and emceed and produced by Valerie Smaldone. The portrait is created by Dan May.
The cast and crew of “Bountiful” was present and the big surprise was the arrival of Tony Winner Cicely Tyson to wish Cuba good luck and give him him a big kiss as she joined in the festivities.
Cuba Gooding Jr., of movie fame, made his stage debut in “The Trip To Bountiful” and is the newest addition to Tony’s prestigious Broadway Wall of Fame.
Poster copies, signed by Cuba, will be auctioned off at a future event to benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.
