Cabaret’s own Raissa Katona Bennett is creating the role of “Mother Hawkins” in Devil and the Deep at Theatre East. The upcoming production, Devil and the Deep,is a musical re-imagining of Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic, Treasure Island.
Newcomer Ethan Riordan is joined by Raissa Katona Bennett (Phantom of the Opera) Bill Newhall (Something Wonderful!), Eric Coles (Rock of Ages), Lisha McKoy (A Little Princess), and Courtney Shaw (Urinetown). The cast also includes Juan Luis Espinal, Kyle Minshew, Nick Ritacco, Kire Tosevski, Skyler Volpe, and Kalyn West.

Set in the mid-18th Century, Devil and the Deep follows young Jim Hawkins from poverty stricken Bristol, England all the way to Caribbean Islands as he embarks on a journey that will change his life forever. A boy that dreamt of adventure upon the sea will be faced with grave choices, betrayal, and lurking danger that will, in turn, make him dream only of returning home.
