Piece of My Heart: The Bert Berns Story is a new musical about the life and songs of legendary songwriter Bert Berns who died tragically at the age of 38 in 1929, after a heart attack. But he left a treasure trove of songs and an indelible mark on popular music. He made fifty-one pop chart singles in 7 years becoming one of the most successful songwriters of the 1960s.  He was dubbed by Rolling Stone as “one of the great untold stories of rock and roll.”  You know some of his hits: “Twist and Shout,” “Telll Him,” “I Want Candy,” “Hang on Sloopy,” “Cry Baby,” “Piece of My Heart” and more.
