Last night, Monday, September 24, The American Theater Wing celebrated newly minted EGOT (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar Tony) winner, Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber at Cipriani on 42nd Street. The Gala, celebrating The Wing’s 101st anniversary, also served as a fundraiser, raising a record breaking $1.6 million dollars for the Wing’s programs as well as the Andrew Lloyd Webber Initiative Legacy Fund. ATW’s CEO Heather Hitchens and Board Chairman David Henry Hwang oversaw festivities.
The event featured performances by Norm Lewis, Sierra Boggess, Katrina Lenk, Brandon Victor Dixon and many others. Theater Pizzazz’s Melissa Griegel was on hand to capture the red carpet arrivals of bold faced names including Al Roker, Walter Bobbie, Jim Dale, LaTanya Richardson Jackson, Jordan Roth, Michael Urie, Ashley Park, Rachel York, Randi Zuckerberg and many others.
