Returning for its second season, American Songbook at NJPAC – a words-and-music series co-presented with NJTV, New Jersey’s public television network – is an exciting offshoot of NJPAC’s success as a broadcast venue. Broadway and cabaret artists Marilyn Maye, Tommy Tune, Marc Shaiman & Scott Wittman, John Pizzarelli, Nellie McKay and Laura Osnes & Santino Fontana perform before a live audience in the intimate Victoria Theater, then join theater insider Ted Chapin for a Q&A. The sessions are taped for future broadcast on WNET, NJTV and WLIW. – Saturday Sept. 20th, 7 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 21st, 3 p.m.
Saturday’s schedule includes Maye, Tune and Shaiman & Wittman. On Sunday, American Songbook at NJPAC features Pizzarelli, McKay and Osnes & Fontana.
