Tony award winner Donna McKechnie appeared at the East 86th Street Barnes & Noble on Monday, August 10 to sign copies of her new CD Same Place: Another Time and to wow the audience with a selection live songs: “What More Do I Need?” (Stephen Sondheim); “Astaire” (Ann Hampton Callaway and Lindy Robbins); “Hate/Love New York” (Portia Nelson); “At the Ballet” (Marvin Hamlisch Ed Kleban); and “Time in a Bottle” (Jim Croce)
The new album was recorded live in London and just released on Jay Records.
Among McKechnie’s many fans in attendance was Baayork Lee, who starred alongside McKechnie in the original production of A Chorus Line in 1975.
