Thursday, December 1, 2016, MCC Theater celebrated the opening night of Ride the Cyclone (reviewed here), a new musical with book, music and lyrics by Jacob Richmond and Brooke Maxwell. The production is directed by Rachel Rockwell. First nighters in attendance included Sarah Stiles, Lucas Hedges, Peter Hedges, Alex Timbers, Rob Askins and Kathryn Gallagher.
This unique new musical—part comedy, part tragedy—tells the tale of a high school choir who are killed on a roller coaster ride at an amusement park and their confronting their fates, Ride the Cyclone stars Lillian Castillo, Gus Halper, Karl Hamilton, Emily Rohm, Tiffany Tatreau, Kholby Wardell, Alex Wyse, plus Johnny Newcomb and Emily Walton. Theater Pizzazz’s JK Clarke was on hand to capture opening night festivities.
