Debra Winger and Tracy Letts were on the Red Carpet for the World Premiere of The Lovers, Saturday, 22 April. The Lovers written and directed by Azazel Jacobs is a human comedy about marriage, love relationships, faithfulness, unfaithfulness and the dynamics of love as an ever-changing emotional fountain.

Debra Winger is exceptional in her role as Mary, the wife of Michael (Tracy Letts is her exceptional match in his portrayal), who is having a serious affair that Michael is unaware of and Michael is having an affair that Mary is unaware of. When the miraculous occurs, they fall in love with each other with more demonstrable passion than they have experienced in years, the fireworks and humor explode. Winger and Letts perform an amazing duet of amusement, surprise and heartfelt emotion that entertains as well as informs.

On the Red Carpet, they discuss what it was like to work with this amazing, innovative material that shines a different light on the trials of long-term marriage and throws a different nuance into the mix of the “hackneyed” marriage relationship.
